The mass of our observable Universe

چکیده

ABSTRACT The standard cosmological model Lambda Cold Dark Matter (LCDM) assumes a global expanding space–time of infinite extent around us. But such idea is inconsistent with the observed cosmic acceleration unless we advocate for existence mysterious dark energy (DE) or constant (Λ). Here, argue instead that our Universe has very large but finite regular mass M, without need to invoke DE Λ. A system M gravitational radius rS = 2GM. When contained within rS, this black hole (BH). Nothing from inside can escape outside which becomes boundary dynamics. In limit where there nothing else outside, corresponds then local isolated universe. Such condition equivalent Λ term: $\Lambda =3/r_\mathrm{ S}^2$. We therefore interpret as measurement Universe, ≃ 6 × 1022 M⊙. BH observationally similar LCDM, except lack largest scale perturbations, are bounded by rS.

Dark Energy and the Observable Universe

We consider ever-expanding Big Bang models with a cosmological constant, Λ, and investigate in detail the evolution of the observable part of the universe. We also discuss quintessence models from the same point of view. A new concept, the Λ-sphere (or Q-sphere, in the case of quintessence) is introduced. This is the surface in our visible universe which bounds the region where dark energy domi...

Dynamical evolution of intermediate mass black holes and their observable signatures in the nearby Universe

We investigate the consequences of a model of the assembly and growth of massive black holes (MBHs) from primordial seeds, remnants of the first generation of stars in a hierarchical structure formation scenario. Our model traces the build-up of MBHs from an early epoch, and follows the merger history of dark matter halos and their associated holes via Monte Carlo realizations of the merger hie...

Is Our Universe Brany ?

Brane-world models, which have received a lot of attention during the last few years, are essentially characterized by two basic ideas: • they assume the existence of spatial extra dimensions, in addition to our four space-time dimensions. The higher dimensional spacetime is usually called the “bulk” spacetime; • our accessible Universe is assumed to be a submanifold, called “brane”, embedded i...

Measuring our Universe

In the 3 century BCE, the Greek mathematician Eratosthenes was able to estimate the Earth’s circumference. He learned that on the summer solstice the Sun at noon was reflected in a deep well in the southern Egyptian city of Syene, which indicated that the Sun was directly overhead at that time. He also knew the Sun was not directly overhead at that time where he lived (Alexandria, in northern E...

On the Stability of Our Universe

We argue that the Robertson-Walker’s Universe is a zero-energy stable one, even though it may possess a rotational state besides expansion.
